It is always great to see positive progress with our thoroughbred horses and here at Ultra Racing we are pleased to report the fantastic progress of Casino Fourteen who has won recent trials at Cranbourne this month:
Interview with Chad Schofield and footage of the 2013 Cox Plate with Shamus Award
A fantastic interview with jockey Chad Schofield who won the Cox Plate in 2013 with maiden Shamus Award. Chad was only an apprentice at the time and Shamus Award just a maiden. Together they created a unique part of Australian racing history. Shamus Award went on to win the Australian Guineas in 2014 and was also Three-Year Old Colt/Gelding of the Year in the same year. Chad Schofield has gone on to much success and is currently in Hong Kong where he is enjoying international racing life.
New Savabeel Colt
We are excited about the new Savabeel colt that has recently been born:
Captain Duffy wins the Geelong Classic 2200m!
Ultra Racing’s Captain Duffy won the Geelong Classic 2200m on Wednesday! Currently trained by Phillip Stokes, Captain Duffy is now preparing for the Victoria Derby on the 29th October 2016.
Champion jockey Noel Callow put him into a prominent spot in the first half of the race, took over 800m from home and dashed clear early in the straight. Callow has previously won the 2005 Derby with Benicio.
Ultra Racing is excited for the rest of the Spring racing season – with recent wins by Snake Charmer it is shaping up to be a prosperous one!
Snake Charmer Wins Twice at Morphettville
An exciting start to the month for us here at Ultra Thoroughbreds as our mare Snake Charmer won twice at Morphettville on the 1st October and the 8th October. A really impressive start to the Spring racing calendar. Snake Charmer is trained by the outstanding Phillip Stokes and ridden by jockey Emily Finnegan. We are very much looking forward to the Spring Racing Carnival in a few weeks!
