The New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run 2YO Sale at Karaka 2017 has been eventful again this year as Toby Koenig successfully bid $275,000 NZ for the fast Poet’s Voice colt which was the only juvenile to break 10 seconds for the furlong, clocking 9.95 seconds!

Toby Koenig topped day 1 of New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale, with the $650,000 purchase of Lyndhurst farm’s Lot 280 yesterday.
The Sebring colt is out of Joleur, the well-related dam of multiple stakes winners, and is a three-quarter brother in blood to proven G1 performer Criterion.
We can’t wait to see the beautiful colt return to our shores!

A fantastic win by Biased Witness at Pakenham on the 17th April 2017. He has now broken his maiden status in style at his second start! At the Karaka 2016 Premier Sale at Little Avondale Stud, Toby Koenig of Ultra Thoroughbreds was interviewed by Racing Post regarding our purchase of Lot 301 – a colt is from unraced mare Generous Nature, for $775,000. Find out what Toby Koenig had to say in the video:
The colt is from unraced mare Generous Nature and is a full-brother to the Group II winner Savvy Nature. Toby Koenig went to New Zealand to successfully secure the sale, which Sean Buckley and the entire Ultra Group is thrilled about.
Toby Koenig spoke to NZ Racing News and said:
“We have always been keen on the Savabeels, having bought a number of them through this sale,” he said.
“Their racetrack performance been outstanding and you can see the fierce competition every time a yearling by him steps into the ring. We’ve managed to secure a pair of superb colts and we’re very happy to be taking them home to Australia.”
