addictive nature horse_sean buckley

The 2 year old son of Savabeel has won his debut at Warwick Park on Wednesday 19th July 2017. Addictive Nature was purchased at the Karaka Spring Sale 2016 and is the full-brother to the Group II winner Savvy Nature. Ridden by jockey Tim Clark he comfortably won the race by 1.3 lengths over Gold Standard and Schubert.

“He has shown us a lot so it’s nice to see him put them away today,” said Bjorn Baker’s stable foreman

ack Bruce.

“We have been waiting a good year for that since we’ve had him.

“He is a real good looker and he has got the manners to match which I think is very important for a colt. He takes everything in his stride and even today before the race, how he handled everything, was very impressive.”

street impact horse

Street Impact makes it a tough win at Metropolitan level at her first start on the 12th July 2017 at Sandown Lakeside. A tremendous job by the entire team at Ultra Racing and Aquanita for Robert Smerdon – it’s been a long road to the races!!!

Robert Smerdon had just seen Street Cry filly Street Impact score a fighting win in a thrilling three-horse finish to the 1200-metre event, but not in the fashion he might have expected.

“We’ll always accept a win, but I think she’s a lot better than what we saw here,” Smerdon said.

“I think there’s more to come once she gets more confident in what she’s doing.

“That was probably one of the few times she’s had to come under pressure, but to see her win narrowly is a relief but I thought she’d win clearly.

“Today’s a good start point, a good outcome, but we’ve seen a lot more than that and I think there’s a lot more to come.

sean buckley hooked

6YO Hooked won his first race in some time on Saturday 15th April 2017 at Caulfield in the 1400m Group 3 handicap ridden by jockey Luke Nolen.
Trainer Robert Smerdon said “You have a plan in the back of your mind about how a race is going to play out and you hope that it does but more often than not some other variable comes into play and it doesn’t work out, but today just went as we’d expected and hoped,” Smerdon said.

“He had the barrier, he got a really good cart along and was able to present at the right time so it went exactly as it looked it might.”
