Captain Duffy wins the Geelong Classic 2200m!
Ultra Racing’s Captain Duffy won the Geelong Classic 2200m on Wednesday! Currently trained by Phillip Stokes, Captain Duffy is now preparing for the Victoria Derby on the 29th October 2016.
Champion jockey Noel Callow put him into a prominent spot in the first half of the race, took over 800m from home and dashed clear early in the straight. Callow has previously won the 2005 Derby with Benicio.
Ultra Racing is excited for the rest of the Spring racing season – with recent wins by Snake Charmer it is shaping up to be a prosperous one!
Snake Charmer Wins Twice at Morphettville
An exciting start to the month for us here at Ultra Thoroughbreds as our mare Snake Charmer won twice at Morphettville on the 1st October and the 8th October. A really impressive start to the Spring racing calendar. Snake Charmer is trained by the outstanding Phillip Stokes and ridden by jockey Emily Finnegan. We are very much looking forward to the Spring Racing Carnival in a few weeks!
First Foal Born out of Star Witness in the Hunter Valley
On August 6th 2016 the first foal was born out of Star Witness at our farm in the Hunter Valley.
Defence Witness wins the Agfert Maiden Plate at Balaklava 23rd March 2016
Defence Witness is a 4YO gelding, trained by Phillip Stokes.

Dam: Culminate
Sire of Dam: Elnadim
Ridden by jockey Dom Tourneur, Defence Witness won her first race at Balaklava, taking the Agfert Maiden Plate.

Ultra Racing secures the purchase of a colt by Savabeel
Ultra Racing buys a colt by Savabeel for $775,000 at the Karaka 2016 Premier Sale at Little Avondale Stud
The colt is from unraced mare Generous Nature and is a full-brother to the Group II winner Savvy Nature. Toby Koenig went to New Zealand to successfully secure the sale, which Sean Buckley and the entire Ultra Group is thrilled about.
Toby Koenig spoke to NZ Racing News and said:
“We have always been keen on the Savabeels, having bought a number of them through this sale,” he said.
“Their racetrack performance been outstanding and you can see the fierce competition every time a yearling by him steps into the ring. We’ve managed to secure a pair of superb colts and we’re very happy to be taking them home to Australia.”
