A fantastic interview with jockey Chad Schofield who won the Cox Plate in 2013 with maiden Shamus Award. Chad was only an apprentice at the time and Shamus Award just a maiden. Together they created a unique part of Australian racing history. Shamus Award went on to win the Australian Guineas in 2014 and was also Three-Year Old Colt/Gelding of the Year in the same year. Chad Schofield has gone on to much success and is currently in Hong Kong where he is enjoying international racing life.
An exciting start to the month for us here at Ultra Thoroughbreds as our mare Snake Charmer won twice at Morphettville on the 1st October and the 8th October. A really impressive start to the Spring racing calendar. Snake Charmer is trained by the outstanding Phillip Stokes and ridden by jockey Emily Finnegan. We are very much looking forward to the Spring Racing Carnival in a few weeks!
Held Hostage (on the inside) is back to racing soon after having knee surgery.
On August 6th 2016 the first foal was born out of Star Witness at our farm in the Hunter Valley.
Watch the final trial from Hooked on trial 1! Hooked now travels to Brisbane in preparation for his first up effort in the Doomben 10000 l@ Group 1 Level. The Doomben 10000 is a feature race of the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival.
A fantastic win by Biased Witness at Pakenham on the 17th April 2017. He has now broken his maiden status in style at his second start! By Star Witness, from My Central (ITY), he is a 2yo bred at Golden Grove Stud and we are thrilled by his win and look forward to further races in the near future including Flemington Anzac Day.
